ARCI Recruitment 2026: 29 Posts for Technicians, Assistants, Drivers, and Scientists

If you’re hoping for a government job in a science and technology setting, ARCI may have something for you. The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, an autonomous R&D centre of the Department of Science and Technology, has released Advt. No. ARCI/HRD/RECT/1/2026. It covers 29 vacancies across six posts, mostly in Hyderabad, with one Assistant post at the Gurugram office.

Dates to Remember

Online applications close on 21 November 2026, and your fee must reach ARCI by the same date. The computer-based exam is tentatively planned for 23 December 2026 for Scientist B, Technical Assistant A and Driver A, 23 January 2027 for Assistant A, and 24 January 2027 for Technician A.

Who Can Apply?

Qualifications depend on the post. Scientist B needs an engineering degree in Materials, Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering. Technical Assistant A needs a B.Sc. with Chemistry or a three-year diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Technician A needs 10th pass with an ITI in Fitter, Turner or Electrician and three years of experience. Assistant A needs a degree and three years of administrative, finance or purchase experience. Driver A needs 10th pass, a licence for light and heavy vehicles and the required driving experience. Candidates with higher qualifications than needed won’t be considered for Technical Assistant and Technician.

Fee and Selection

For Scientist B and Officer B, General and OBC candidates pay Rs 600, and reserved categories pay Rs 400. For the other posts, the fees are Rs 500 and Rs 300. The fee is charged per post and isn’t refundable. Selection starts with screening, followed by a computer-based exam in Hyderabad and then an interview, trade test or skill test, depending on the post.

Apply online only, through the careers section of the ARCI website. Enter your bank transfer details and upload the receipt, or your application will be rejected. Applications left in draft mode won’t be considered, and each extra post needs its own application and fee.
