If you've got a Diploma, an ITI certificate, or even just your 10th pass mark sheet in hand, and you've been waiting for a shot at working with India's space program, this one's worth paying attention to.
The ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) at Mahendragiri, part of the Indian Space Research Organisation under the Department of Space, has opened up applications for 22 posts.
What's nice about this drive is that it isn't just for engineers there's room here for Technical Assistants, Technicians, a Cook, and Firemen too, so candidates from very different backgrounds can all try their luck.
Important Dates
The notification went out on 12 September 2026 under Advertisement No. IPRC/RMT/2026/01, and applications opened three days later, on 15 September. You've got until 5 October 2026 to submit your form, and it all has to happen online through IPRC's own portal — there's no walk-in or postal option this time, so don't wait for an offline form to show up.
Vacancy Details
Out of the 22 posts, five are Technical Assistant roles in Automobile, Mechanical, and Electronics & Communication — these are the best-paying ones on offer, sitting at Pay Level 7. The bulk of the vacancies, 13 in total, are Technician 'B' posts across trades like Turner, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Refrigeration & AC, and Electrician, placed at Pay Level 3.
Then there's just one Cook 'A' opening and three Fireman 'A' posts, both at Pay Level 2. Like most government recruitment, reservations run across all these posts for OBC, SC, ST, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD candidates, so it's genuinely worth going through the category-wise numbers instead of assuming you don't qualify.
Eligibility Criteria
What you need on paper really depends on which post you're chasing. Technical Assistant roles ask for a First Class Diploma in the matching engineering stream.
The Technician 'B' posts are a bit more accessible — a 10th pass plus an ITI certificate (NTC or NAC from NCVT) in the right trade gets you in the door. If cooking is your thing, the Cook 'A' post wants a 10th pass along with five solid years of experience cooking at a proper hotel or canteen, and that experience has to be backed by a certificate from the establishment itself, not just a personal reference.
And for Fireman 'A', besides being 10th pass, you'll need to clear the prescribed physical fitness standards and attach a Preliminary Medical Examination Certificate when you apply.
Age Limit
For most of these posts, you need to be somewhere between 18 and 35 years old as on 5 October 2026.
Firemen have a tighter window though, 18 to 25 years, which makes sense given the physical demands of the job.
The standard age relaxations for reserved categories and other eligible groups still apply, so it's worth checking before you count yourself out.
Application Fee
Expect to pay ₹750 if you're applying for a Technical Assistant post, and ₹500 for everything else. Payment happens online through net banking, cards, or UPI. One thing that's genuinely helpful — if you actually show up for the written test, you get some or all of that fee back afterward, depending on your category.
Selection Process
The selection runs on a written test followed by a skill test. For most posts, the skill test is just qualifying — it's your written test score that decides your final position. Firemen go through a bit more, with a Physical Efficiency Test and a full medical exam added on top.
The written exam itself is offline, OMR-based, held either in Tirunelveli or Chennai, and whichever city you pick when applying is final — there's no changing your mind later.

Honestly, the process itself isn't complicated, but it does demand attention to detail — once you submit the form, it's locked, so there's no fixing typos afterward.
You'll register on the IPRC careers portal, fill in your details, upload your photo, signature, and the required certificates, pick your preferred exam city, pay the fee, and you're done. Just make sure everything's correct before that final click.
