Vacancy Details
Sixteen posts in all. Male candidates have 14 seats between them — 3 UR, 1 ST, 8 OBC, and 1 EWS. Female candidates get 2 — 1 UR and 1 OBC. There's also a 10% carve-out for Ex-Servicemen within each category, not on top of it. And like most government recruitments, treat these numbers as provisional — they can shift a bit before the final list goes out.
Eligibility Criteria
You're in the running either way — a recognised university degree with Psychology as one of your subjects, or a degree plus a B.Ed, Bachelor of Teaching, or something along those lines. No work experience is asked for, so this is a solid option if you're fresh out of college and want to get into a central force rather than a classroom. Age Limit
You need to be 20 to 25 years old as on 27 October 2026. And if you're sitting right on the edge, don't count yourself out just yet — ST and OBC candidates get the usual age relaxation, and Ex-Servicemen do too, which can stretch that window a bit further than you'd guess. Best to actually flip through the notification's relaxation table instead of assuming you don't make the cut.
Salary
The post carries Pay Level 4 under the 7th CPC, working out to ₹25,500–₹81,100. It's temporary to start with, but these positions usually end up permanent within ITBP over time. One thing to keep in mind — you should be ready to serve anywhere in India, and possibly outside the country too, so this isn't a role to take up if you're set on staying put in one city.

Good news on this front — it's about as light as government exam fees get. General category candidates pay just ₹100. Women, SC, ST candidates, and Ex-Servicemen don't pay anything at all. Selection Process
