Current position: Must be working as a Senior Section Engineer in a regular cadre post at Pay Level 7.

Department: Must belong to the relevant Electrical or Mechanical department of a Zonal Railway or Production Unit.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of service as a Senior Section Engineer in Pay Level 7.

Educational qualification: A relevant engineering degree, diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred/required as specified in the applicable notification.

APAR grading: At least 11 marks in the combined APAR grading for 2022–23, 2023–24 and 2024–25, with a minimum rating of “Good” in the latest year.

Remaining service: At least 5 years of residual service.

Medical fitness: Medical category B-1 is required.

Cooling-off period: A 3-year gap is required between two tenures at RDSO.

Disqualifications: Candidates with pending or contemplated disciplinary, SPE or vigilance cases, or a penalty arising from a vigilance case during a previous RDSO tenure, may be ineligible as specified in the notification.
