Ever pictured yourself working at an Indian embassy in another country? Well, here’s a chance to make that real. The Embassy of India in Astana, Kazakhstan, is looking for a Marketing Assistant, and the best part is that there’s no online form to wrestle with. You just send in your CV and a covering letter. The requirements are quite specific though, so let’s walk through them together.

The Job in a Nutshell

The Embassy’s Administration Division is hiring for one full-time Marketing Assistant post, which becomes vacant from 23 November 2026. The salary starts at US$ 1,200 per month, and you need to be between 21 and 35 years old to apply. You can send your CV and covering letter by post or email, but they need to reach the Embassy by 14 November 2026, so don’t leave it to the last minute.

What Would Your Days Look Like?

The role is all about strengthening trade and business ties between India and Kazakhstan. On a typical day, you might be:

  • Teaming up with local trade bodies, associations and ministries on events for trade, tourism and business conferences

  • Writing up reports on the Embassy’s commercial events

  • Tracking and analysing trade numbers between the two countries

  • Answering questions from Indian and Kazakh traders

  • Translating and interpreting official documents

  • Looking after official delegations when they visit Astana

  • Taking up any other suitable work the Embassy gives you

Are You the Right Fit?

The Embassy has a fairly clear idea of who it wants. Here’s what you need to have in your corner.

The must-haves:

  • A university degree or an equivalent diploma, in any subject

  • Fluency in English, Russian and Kazakh, both spoken and written

  • Comfort with computers, including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva and email

  • Good organisation, admin and time management skills

  • Strong communication skills and a hunger to keep learning

The nice-to-haves:

Here’s the part that can trip people up: the work permit. The Embassy will only consider candidates who already hold a Local Work Permit, Resident Visa or a similar document that lets them work in a foreign diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan. So if you don’t have that sorted, this one may not work out for you.

What’s in It for You?

Apart from the US $1,200 starting salary, you’ll get an annual bonus equal to one month’s pay once you complete a year, plus 21 days of annual leave. The job is full-time and turns permanent after you clear probation, which makes it a pretty stable setup.

How to Apply

  1. Write your CV and a covering letter, both in English.

  2. Post them to the Administration Division, Embassy of India, 10th Floor, 62 A, Kosmonavtov, Astana, Kazakhstan, or email them to the Embassy’s administration address given in the official notification.

  3. Make sure they actually reach the Embassy by 14 November 2026. Posting them on the last day won’t count.

The notice doesn’t mention an application fee or how the selection will be done, so keep an eye on your inbox once you’ve applied.
